Keynote Presentation
Trusted Data: Building an AI-Ready FoundationDaniel Morse - Chief Data Officer - EnergyAustralia
Governance built for human readers can't hold at machine scale — most frameworks quietly depend on a person hesitating when something looks wrong, and agents don't hesitate. This talk argues the fix isn't more governance but governance moved from the perimeter to the foundation: written as code, enforced at query time, and applied identically whether the consumer is an analyst or an agent -

Forget the Model, Fix the Data: The Real Constraint on Agentic AI
Ajay Kumar - Head of AI Solutions - InfoTrack
An AI agent can be confident, detailed, and completely wrong, not because the model is poor, but because it never had access to the authoritative source it needed. In this keynote, InfoTrack's Ajay Kumar makes the case that the biggest unlock for trustworthy agentic AI is not a better model. It is authoritative data, made accessible. Drawing on InfoTrack's 25 years connecting organisations to trusted government and regulatory data, Ajay will show how the Model Context Protocol (MCP) turns that data into a governed, auditable service any agent can call on, and what this means for sectors well beyond InfoTrack's legal industry roots, including insurance, healthcare, aged care, and financial services.

Reuse or Rebuild: The Confidence Gap in Data Products
Esther Lim - Principal Solutions Consultant - Quest
97% of organisations say they're delivering data products, yet 74% are doing so through unstructured, one-off efforts quietly rebuilding the same datasets over and over, often without realising it.
The result: slower forecasting, ballooning maintenance costs, and AI initiatives stuck permanently in pilot.
The real barrier isn't building more data products, it's confidence. Teams don't reuse what they don't trust, no matter how available it is. Drawing on new research by Quest and Corinium, we'll unpack what actually makes a data product reusable, why most reuse initiatives stall, and how leading organisations are turning trusted, governed data into a genuine competitive advantage.

Preparing MARS for the Future of Connected Packaging - A MARS Australia & IM Systems Case Study
John Howe - Regional Product Artwork and Content Lead for Asia Pacific - MARS Corporate Marketing
How IM Systems designed the future-state data architecture to address some of MARS Australia’s most complex packaging and product content challenges, and create a pathway to AI-enabled packaging artwork production.
The transition from traditional barcodes to GS1 Digital Link QR codes is transforming packaging from a physical asset into a digital customer engagement platform. Recognising this shift, MARS Australia partnered with IM Systems (IMS) to assess whether the re-implementation of its core packaging artwork and product content management platform would provide the strategic foundation required for connected packaging, AI-enabled content, and increasingly digital retailer and consumer experiences.
Rather than simply validating the technology being implemented, the engagement sought to answer a broader strategic question: would the new platform provide a sufficient foundation for the future, or would additional architectural change be required? To answer this, the project combined enterprise architecture, semantic modelling, data governance, and business capability analysis to develop a future-state enterprise architecture, packaging-centric conceptual data model, enhanced operating model, and strategic roadmap.
Presented jointly by MARS Australia and IMS, this session shares the practical lessons from designing a future-ready packaging and product content ecosystem, demonstrating how enterprise architecture and semantic modelling can bridge today's technology investments with tomorrow's digital business capabilities.
